Well it looks like IRWD is getting on with the pipeline. Please be extra cautious on Haul Rd. Over the next several years there is going to be a significant presence of people and equipment on Haul Rd. and the flats. It is imperative that we stay clear of the western flight boundary! If you must fly long, fly east not west.
Member Appreciation Day, Sunday October 4 is approaching fast!
Jerome has Navarro’s scheduled to feed us. I expect Navarro’s to be there mid to late morning.
It is open flying all day, we’ll have water, other refreshment and shade.
Dave has donated several NIB aircraft for a big raffle! Yes, each prize will have its own ticket box so you know exactly what you stand to win. Buy lots of tickets, this is for a great cause!
Every year we have a member appreciation day, this year it seems even more important. We have a great membership and a wonderful place to fly. We would like the focus of the day to be about our membership and those who are no longer with us. The most recent loss was Randy McElhattan and that hit us hard, especially Frank. Randy dedicated countless hours keeping our field mowed and park like and helping in other ways to maintain the field. Randy was well liked and quite involved with the pattern community always ready to lend a hand. We are all important pieces of this little paradise and we should take time to appreciate that. Frank is very humble and would like the focus to be on those we’ve lost and the camaraderie of the membership, not himself. Please try and respect that, it will make his day much more enjoyable.
Bring something fun to fly and a smile, it will make for a great day!
