Quick Reminder; This Sunday. October 4, is member appreciation day at the field. It’s going to be hot, we’ll have plenty of shade and water. Navarro’s will be there around 10:30AM before it gets too hot – Tacos! Tacos! Tacos! Open flying all day. Raffle! Raffle! Raffle! All members are welcome, yes you can bring a guest.
In other news
Things are ramping up with the Dam Renovation Project, the immediate impact will be James Events has lost use of the flats for parking. That wasn’t supposed to happen but we all know how that goes. Storage yards, Heli-Pods (large water containers for OCFA), concrete facility, etc. Doesn’t leave much room for James Event’s parking. Fortunately OCMA and James Events will continue to work together, a cornerstone to our success with the field. OCMA field will be used for overflow parking for the larger events. Since Covid, many of the larger events have down scaled which means they will not impact us as in the past. The only event remaining this year that will is the OC Cross County event. This annual event is for middle school and high school students which means lots of school buses!
Friday and Saturday, October 16-17 – OC Cross Country Parking will use our airfield. The field will be closed for the event. A reminder will likely be sent.
